Photo Friday

Happy Friday once again everyone! We have been enjoying some lovely family time recently. We had a very nice trip to VT where we got to see all of my family, and Lewis adored having so many people to play with and keep him entertained, plus the benefit of a nice yard to play in. We got back here Tuesday and Chris had work the next two days but he got a surprise day off today, which means an extra day I can put him to work helping get this apartment back into some semblance of cleanliness. 😉 It also means extra fun times spent playing together as a family. This morning we went out and puddle-splashed for a while, and Lewis also had an excellent time chasing Daddy around the house pretending they both were monsters. As might be expected most of these photos are from our trip to VT, with a few from the past couple days in our own home.

Happy spring and Happy Easter everyone! We have had a lovely week of beautiful weather and Easter-themed activities. But, you won’t see any Easter photos here because I took too many photos this week and they will need a post of their own. Not sure when they will be posted since Lewis could wake from his nap any time now, but I will attempt to get them up either this afternoon or this evening. We leave tomorrow for a lovely long-weekend in VT where we will get to see my entire (giant) family. Some of Lewis’ aunties and uncles we haven’t seen since my sister’s wedding in October, so it will be nice to see everyone again! And Lewis, of course, is looking forwards to a visit from the Easter Bunny. 🙂

I finally got around to ordering a roll of butcher paper for art projects, so I had Lewis put it to the test with some markers. We still need to test how well it holds up to paint, but we have been too busy playing outside all week!

Snuggly snuggly story time. <3 My belly is getting to big for him to sit on my lap and read in the glider chair where we normally have stories, so we have moved most of our reading out to the couch.

Happy Friday everyone! It is Friday, right? Things have been feeling just a bit mixed up here due to some deadlines and crazy work schedule for Chris. He’s been working late nearly every evening and also working some Saturdays, so that leaves a lot of time for me and Lewis to keep busy on our own. Thankfully we have been lucky to have beautiful warm weather all week and have spent as much time as possible outside. Even a rainy day yesterday didn’t ruin it since all that meant was that Lewis had the chance to test out his new rain jacket! He is loving the puddles, the mud, and every other part of this emerging spring weather. We’ve gone for some nice walks and also enjoyed exploring outdoors again and seeing how the world is changing around us. Hope you all have had some nice weather to enjoy too!

Let's start things off right with this artistic Lewis-eye perspective of some of the mess on our floor.

These poor bird feeders were abandoned in their tree all winter while their family went to Florida. They are now home and filled up the one they could reach. Lewis helped rescue another that had fallen in the snow, and then crouched down quietly below the tree and eventually told me he loved that tree. :)

Don't cry over spilt milk! (This is actually a lovely concoction of yogurt, chia seeds, and water. At different points he told me he was doing an experiment and also that this was a fun project. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and let the messes happen.)

Happy Friday everyone! I just glanced out the window and noticed some snow coming down, but it’s ok because tomorrow will be warm and melt it all! The weather this week has been alright but not awesome. Fairly cloudy and windy and chilly, but not full on winter frigidity. We’ve still managed to get out most every day, but usually haven’t wanted to stay out in the wind for super long and have needed some nice warming drinks when we come back in. Lewis’ favorites are hot cocoa or warm milk with a little honey, vanilla, and cinnamon added. Mommy prefers chai or other tea, and when I offered some to Lewis he had to explain to me that “tea not a treat, Mommy!”

We had a bit of a rough start to the week since Lewis was hit with a tummy bug over the weekend. Nothing too severe, but he was fairly uncomfortable and unhappy and wanted lots of snuggles and down time. Once we got past that we’ve been enjoying a pretty busy week full of lots of Lewis-led learning and activities.

He had so much fun with the shaving cream he requested it again the next day. This time he didn't really want any toys for it, he just dug his hands right in and his messy hands became monsters/airplanes/people/creatures and most anything else you can imagine!

Our beautiful and yummy jar of mixed nut butter. We were short on peanuts so I just got out all our nuts and Lewis put together a specialty mix including peanuts, walnuts, pecans, almonds, and sunflower seeds! We also added a pinch of salt, 1 T honey, and 2 T olive oil.

Happy snowy Friday everyone! Actually, the snow is pretty much melted by now, but Lewis was very excited last night to step outside and see the big fat flakes starting to fall and gather on the grass, and as soon as he was out of bed this morning he was requesting to go out in it. (A good idea actually because it was a sunny day and it melted quite quickly. We went out a little after 8:30 and by 9:30 a good portion of it was already disappearing.)

Fall seems to have sped by us and we are now going head-long into holiday season. Thanksgiving in just a few weeks, the stores full of ridiculously early Christmas stuff, people on Facebook posting about listening to Christmas carols already… I love Christmas,  but I’m trying to block out all the Christmas-y stuff and focus on Thanksgiving for now. I should probably come up with some turkey-themed crafts to do with Lewis now that I think about it.

Anyway, some photo-cuteness! I nice mix of Fall and our first glimpses of Winter.
