Time to play a little catch-up with photos! It’s been about a month, I think, since I’ve posted. We’ve been busy! The first week of August Chris’ parents came to visit, and the following week we went up to my family’s cabin on Lake Champlain, where there is no internet access. This past week has been a bit of a blur trying to settle back into regular routines, catch up with laundry, etc. Chris was expecting things to be a bit calmer at work now but he went back in on Tuesday only to discover that they are still requesting them to work 50 hour weeks, so he has worked two late nights already this week and will probably work on Saturday as well. I’m getting a little better at juggling solo bedtime with two little ones, but it is still a bit tricky since Anya likes to spend most of the evening attached to me and nursing constantly, tanking up for the night.

Our week with Chris’ parents was very nice for all of us. This was the first time they have made it out here to see where we live, where Chris works, and of course to meet Anya! Most of the time was spent with them exploring the area a bit on little day trips with Chris and Lewis (the most successful of which I think was to the Albany Pine Bush) while Anya and I hung out here nursing, napping, and attempting to wash some dishes. We also spent time with everyone hanging out here, playing with chalk and bubbles, swimming in the pool, etc. Lewis loved having visitors and by the end of the week was telling them to stay here and not go home! I don’t have a lot of photos from the visit since most of the photos that were taken were on Chris’ phone, but there are a couple here as well as some from before their visit.

They said goodbye Friday night, and Saturday morning was spent busily cleaning and packing to head up to my family’s camp. It was a lovely visit as well but I guess I will leave the details for a later post since these pictures are all from prior to that! Hopefully I will have some time to hop on the computer again soon and sort through the many photos from our trip.

Calmly relaxing after her bath - another example of how different she is from her brother! He always wanted to snuggle and nurse the second he was out of the water, and if he didn't get that there would be crying and screaming.

Hello again everyone! Are we ready for a three day weekend? Chris’ work has calmed down a bit and he is back to his regular working hours, but it will still be nice to have him home for an extra day.

Last weekend was a busy one for us with Niskaday (photos presumably to be posted in a separate post if I ever get around to it) and then a visit from friends Sat-Sun. We went mini golfing together Sunday then out for a tasty lunch. Lewis was excited to go golfing but once we got there he discovered that the actual golfing part was rather boring and there were much more interesting things like a water fountain to watch, bugs to hunt for under rocks, a play area, and ice cream!

I am nearly 38 weeks pregnant and definitely feeling the effects. I get quite worn out if I am on my feet for any length of time, so we have been doing lots of at-home activities all week and not straying too far away. There is still plenty of fun to keep us busy though!

Mmmm. This is where it's at. We'll leave those other people to play boring golf in the sun while we hang out here enjoying this delicious ice cream.

Shaving cream, apparently, is the most fun if you spread it all over your entire body. (I offered to him to take his shirt off but he didn't want it on his belly or skin, just his clothes.)

He took two of the biggest "foot" stickers and stuck them on the bottoms of his own feet. This was clearly extremely hilarious.

I don't remember what he said it was, but he was very proud to have built this so tall! I love his technique or upside-down block building. (And what's with so many of my photos being weirdly off center?)

He loooves playing video games of any sort. He couldn't wait for the tablet to charge to play, he needed to use it right away once he decided it was game time! Here he is totally engrossed with either Endless Alphabet or Endless Reader. He loves both and has learned a ton about letters and letter sounds from them.

Hello all! This week has gone by quickly (although the first few days felt slow) and very few pictures have been taken. Consequently most of these photos are all from one day, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚

Lewis and I both had a stomach bug at the start of the week. It hit me much harder than it did him which is good because I think taking care of a sick toddler may actually be worse than being sick yourself.

We’ve been enjoying more nice weather and once again spending as much time outdoors as possible. Lewis gets coated head to toe in mud at some point nearly every day, and he has also been enjoying the chance to play with his friend J in the evenings after he is home from school and Lewis’ nap time is done.

He was very excited to find sticks shaped like a "f" and a "downercase h." He loves finding sticks and other things that looks like letters, then carries them around making the phonics sound of that letter and sometimes coming up words that start with it. :)

I heard him yelling to me from the other room "Mama, come get ready to box an ox! Get ready!" Came into the room to find this. Yarn cones obviously = boxing gloves.

Happy Friday and Merry Christmas everyone! I know Christmas is almost a week away, but we’ll be in Michigan and I’m not making any promises about trying to post while we are there. We leave tomorrow for the two hour plane trip, which Lewis is very excited about, and will be visiting Chris’ family for two weeks. Lewis is hoping for lots of presents and treats, and looking forward to playing with the dog Ruby.

Since we didn’t want to attempt traveling with a huge pile of presents, we had an early Christmas here last Sunday and opened all our family presents. In Michigan we will have just a couple small Santa gifts and of course a stocking for Lewis to open.

Lewis has been practicing his photography skills, so I’ve included a few of his photos again for you to enjoy.

Hello everyone! We are enjoying some truly lovely warm fall weather this week, and it is supposed to be even nicer this weekend. This will be an extra bonus for us because tomorrow we get to enjoy a visit to Liberty Ridge Farm, thanks to Chris’ work. We love all the family-friendly activities that they plan for us! We went last year and had a blast, and I know Lewis will just enjoy everything even more this year.

We have had a fun day today as well. Lewis had us up a bit earlier than usual this morning, but I decided to take advantage of it. Lewis and I left the house a little before Daddy today (often I’m still in PJs when Chris heads to work) and caught the bus to head downtown. We went and visited the big central library and had a lot of fun seeing the different toys there, eating a snack outside, and also visiting The Open Door Bookstoreย while killing time before catching our bus back home. The bookstore has a little play corner with toys for kids which Lewis enjoyed, and he also had fun looking at the toys for sale.

I hope this lovely fall weather continues for a while – I am enjoying the sunshine!
